It's a curiosity of Glasgow that every signpost pointing along a road heading to the north of the city points to Aberfoyle. We decided a bit of detective work was in order to figure out why.

The answer? Well, we still have no clue. For starters, the road involved doesn't even go to Aberfoyle; it goes to Callander. Secondly, Aberfoyle is tiny, while Callander is actually a reasonable size. Thirdly... well, that's enough frankly. It's completely ridiculous. But at least now we know where it is!

It stopped raining just as we arrived, but it was still a bit moody as we looked down over Aberfoyle. It's there, somewhereSome nice deer - albeit not real - in the Forestry Commission place just up the hill from the townA hop and skip later and we're on Loch Katrine. Our drinking water comes from hereBut that fact didn't stop Dave pulling a really stupid face and ruining a pictureScott looks quizzical about the fact that the cycle route 7 goes through here. As with every other place in Scotland
