Scott is distinctly unimpressed with Torp airport. This is what an hour-long flight can do to you Buns of steel - erm, concrete - erm, granite? Marble? A famous Norwegian. There are some (the inscription says Henrik Wergeland, whoever he is) The writing does kind of give away what this is A fountain. With two Narvessen newsagents, one on each side Up to the palace, at the end of Karl Johan's Gate Looks rather impressive, really The man himself Hey, what's that coming up the hill? (Twice) Ooh, the suspense Hey, it's the changing of the guard! Only it's gone completely nuts for one day only for some reason and involves marching and horses! They're invading really Or they're here to get rid of those troublesome Scots ... The welcoming party (the soldiers, not the randoms) Even the guardsman wants to have a look Flag Guard, changing of Naturally in Norway you expect a statue of Abe Lincoln. Also naturally, it'll have been paid for by North Dakota The Vigelandspark, with lots of mental artwork Like this, on a bridge Supporting the earth The bridge is covered with statues showing life And this is the pile of people clambering over each other to get to the top And again Scott is impressed at having found Gemini on the horoscope statue thingy Nobel stands guard over one of his institutes This is the other one, on the waterfront Another day, another American president Is that a book in your pocket...? Oh, it is Looking off down the Oslofjord The tank wasn't actually firing, despite how it looks The view from our temporary home. Nice, innit? So nice it's here twice Hey, that last one rhymed. The pub on the corner here is called the Scotsman, incidentally Norway's (heavily-guarded) parliament I've racked my brains as to why I took this picture, and still have no idea Solidarity among Scandinavian brothers The aforementioned security at the parliament Scott's up there, waiting for something to happen. We didn't know what Then some old dude asked us, and was rude when we told him Scotland wasn't part of England The man with two faces. And a statue! Har de har Oh look, we're here again. Oslo University. Very nice, very yellow And very repeated The cathedral, complete with artworks inside by someone from Glasgow Oslofjord again, but in nice weather Looking across the harbour to the cool waterfront stuff Relaxing in the sun The hill behind the city Flag, building, in castle This looks like a little abandoned square, but is in fact in the middle of a big roundabout The other side of it, a nice building Scott walks into the frame of some nice modern art This is outside the town hall *That* town hall, in fact, complete with lots of artwork showing Norse mythology This flame is meant to burn forever. It was burning when this was taken Unfortunately, it was so bright you can barely see it A distinctly unimpressed Mr Torrance The castle Closer castle Scary giant face You can guess who this is of Palace, but in sunlight this time The 'meet at the tiger' tiger, used more than once and found, eventually, when we first arrived after walking through the entire station Window view at night And again Everything's so blurry... Hold still, skyline! Repetition... Where we were staying - brand new! Complete with Comfort Quest mattress, as sold on BidUp TV here One final window view, and we're gone
